Scattering Theory of Mesoscopic Detectors
We consider a two-level system coupled to a mesoscopic two-terminal conductor that acts as measuring device. As a convenient description of the conductor we introduce its scattering matrix. We show how its elements can be used to calculate the relaxation and decoherence rates of the two-level system. Special emphasis is laid on the charge screening in the conductor that becomes important in the...
متن کاملHigh-efficiency single-photon detectors.
Visible light photon counters (VLPCs) and solid-state photomultipliers (SSPMs) are high-efficiency single-photon detectors which have multi-photon counting capability. While both the VLPCs and the SSPMs have inferred internal quantum efficiencies above 93%, the actual measured values for both the detectors were in fact limited to less than 88%, attributed to in-coupling losses. We are currently...
متن کاملassessment of the efficiency of s.p.g.c refineries using network dea
data envelopment analysis (dea) is a powerful tool for measuring relative efficiency of organizational units referred to as decision making units (dmus). in most cases dmus have network structures with internal linking activities. traditional dea models, however, consider dmus as black boxes with no regard to their linking activities and therefore do not provide decision makers with the reasons...
Spectral Efficiency of Low-Complexity Multiuser Detectors
A family of multiuser detectors is analyzed which require neither matrix inversions nor other operations with significant complexity. The time complexity per bit of most of them is independent of the number of users. Nevertheless, their spectral efficiency for random spreading sequences is shown to be not far behind that of linear MMSE detection.
متن کاملSprayed P25 scaffolds for high-efficiency mesoscopic perovskite solar cells.
Uniform, thickness-controllable and large-size mesoscopic TiO2 films based on commercial P25 nanoparticles are prepared by a spray method, which have been applied in the perovskite solar cells, achieving a high efficiency of 16%. This spray method shows promising application in the large-scale production of mesoscopic solar cells.
